The Analytics team is currently looking for a data analyst and programmer to work on improving Analytics process and code that is essential for Euromonitor’s internal Forecast Model process that supports the update of our Passport data.

The successful candidate will have solid programming foundation in either Python or R, understand the cloud computing services and have a genuine interest in data analytics.

Besides working on the internal Forecast Model process, the data analyst will likely be involved in our consulting projects that require similar skills.

A typical consulting analytics project starts with the identification of our clients’ objectives. Then the most optimal solution is identified, given all available data and the client’s objectives. The proper data treatment is extremely important since it yields robust results during the solution development stage. The results presentation to a client concludes the project.

Job responsibilities:

  • Development of a new and improvement of an already existing code that treats the data, performs various mathematical transformations and statistical computations.
  • Participation in internal peer review meetings and contribution to the best solution search process as well as giving comments on already created preliminary solutions
  • Draw conclusions based on the results
  • Monitoring for latest developments in the field to make sure we use cutting edge programming and cloud solutions
  • Proper documentation of each project and sharing best practices

Requirements

  • Communication skills and English fluency (both oral and writing)
  • Excellent organisational skills and creativity
  • Advanced R/Python knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Ability to automate complex data analysis processes
  • Understanding of data flows, migrations, ETLs, pipelines, and other similar tools
  • Understanding of process scaling and parallelization
  • Understanding on how to write a production-ready code
  • A knowledge in econometrics, statistics and economics.
  • Knowledge of Dockers, Rest API, JSON data format would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of cloud computing services platforms providers (Azure, GCS, other)
  • Experience in SPARQL, JavaScript, HTML or similar would be an advantage
  • A genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence and related fields like data science and Machine learning would be an advantage.
  • The confidence and ability to take the post forward with the minimum of supervision.
  • M.A. degree in computer science, statistics, econometrics, data science, mathematics, economics, physics or similar field. Highly skilled candidates with a B.A. will also be considered.
