About the Team

This small, high-impact analytics team moves fast and uses their technical and business skills to help the business understand user behavior. They do it in an engineered way that scales well as the company continually grows in complexity. The team is highly autonomous, collaborative, fun, and deeply competent—building a stand-out analytics function inside one of the most exciting startups in the data space.

You’ll work primarily with US-based Product Managers, but also partner with Technical Account Managers, Marketing and Field Engineering, and any other team that needs someone to bring technical data skills to bear on a business problem. The team is currently three people across EMEA (plus a wider analytics community of another three) and thrives in remote, async work environments.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Data Analyst who is curious to use SQL and user analytics to uncover insights that guide product decisions and build out dashboards that support the day to day processes of the business. Product development moves quickly at Monte Carlo, so your work will immediately influence what gets built.

This is a generalist analytics role; some days you will produce insights, other days build dashboards in Looker, and often create/update DBT models. It is a very self sufficient team that is always keen to expand their skills into new areas. You will serve as the analytics partner for specific product squads—becoming the expert in their domain and the data that powers it.

This role is fully remote within the US.

  • Become the aligned analytics partner for specific product squads

  • Become the expert in what can be tracked, how users behave, and which datasets matter

  • Translate business hypotheses into rigorous analytics and clear insights

Dashboards & Reporting

  • Build intuitive dashboards and trackers in Looker, Mixpanel and Fullstory

  • Create easy-to-digest visualizations that the business relies on daily

Data Modeling

  • Build and maintain dbt models that aggregate core product usage data

  • Improve data usability for Product, TAM, and GTM teams

  • Keep data trustworthy using MC!

Data Expertise

  • Develop deep understanding of Monte Carlo’s data, how it’s collected, and how it should be interpreted

  • Partner cross-functionally to steward best practices in analytics and product measurement

Experience

  • 3+ years as a Data Analyst or Product Analyst

  • Demonstrated ability to turn business questions into actionable analyses

  • Strong SQL and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with at least one modern BI tool (Looker preferred but not required)
