Data Analyst and Coordinator

We’re looking for a Data Analyst & Coordinator who thrives on turning data into decisions and supporting a team to do their best work. This role combines coordination, creativity, structure, and hands-on analytics, making it perfect for someone like you who loves both people, modern technology, and data. It could serve as a starting point for, among others, transitioning into Product Management or becoming a full-time Data Analyst. 

The DataTeam at Kahoot! consists of three full-time Data Engineers and almost three full-time Data Analysts. The team is responsible for collecting and analyzing data on the usage of our products, sales/revenue, subscriptions, and related information. The data is exposed to employees and customers in various ways, including BI frontends with dashboards. 

This position is based in Oslo, and you will report to the Group CTO.

About the role

As a Data Analyst, you’ll help Kahoot! employees unlock insights by:

• Coordinate with Data Engineers to identify the needed data
• Build dashboards for stakeholders, partly together with other Data Analysts
• Tackling additional analytics tasks as needed, in line with the business needs
• Assisting with testing, debugging, documentation, and overall quality assurance of tasks by the Data Team

As coordinator for our Data Team, you’ll help us stay aligned and focused, by:

• Partnering with stakeholders across Kahoot! to capture, clarify, and shape incoming requests and tasks
• Hosting & organizing the planning sessions with the team
• Prioritizing the work related to Data Engineering and Data Analytics, together with the members
• Making sure there is a plan, including Jira board, backlog, and roadmap, updated regularly.

Requirements

• Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, or business and economics. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.

• Knowledge about key elements of privacy, GDPR etc.
• Knowledge about regular business processes related to sales, payment, support etc.
• Experience from collecting requirements/wishes and turning them into well-described work items
• Experience with building dashboards in at least one BI-frontend solution
• Preferably knowing key financial reporting processes and invoicing processes
• Preferably knowing how to query a database and knowing software development process
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good at building relationships
• Experience from running projects
• A team player who is not afraid to help out a colleague in a pinch, or speak up when we are on the wrong course.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience
