OVERVIEW MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB Welocalize is seeking a passionate and culturally fluent Danish linguist with deep knowledge of the product and marketing sectors, as well as exceptional writing skills, to join our localization team. You’ll help shape compelling content and user experiences that resonate with Danish-speaking audiences. As the Language Lead Specialist, you will review, adapt, and enhance a variety of content into native-level Danish, ensuring an authentic tone and voice for a global platform. This role is a cornerstone of our Language Quality Program, requiring expertise in linguistic quality assurance, cultural adaptation, and collaboration with international teams. Project Details: Language Pair: English (US) > Danish (Denmark) Task Type: QC, LQA, Language Lead Support, Linguistic Review Tools: Client proprietary tools (training provided) Workload: Weekly availability required Assessment: Grammar + Creative/Localization task via platform (completed in one sitting) MAIN DUTIES
  • Perform LQA reviews, adhering to quality guidelines and production timelines.
  • Handle arbitrations and drive linguistic consensus for optimal results.
  • Perform terminology and TM updates within the client environment, following guidelines provided by the Quality team.
  • Answer linguistic queries adhering to outlined query management processes.
  • Lead the Danish LQA review team to ensure consistency, reference material adherence, and feedback quality standards across reviewers.
  • Liaise with the Lead Translator and translation teams (in writing & via meetings) to share constructive feedback and drive overall language quality improvement.
  • Provide linguistic and cultural consultation as requested by the client.
  • Monitor published content for potential improvements and flag issues to be addressed on a localization or internationalization level.
  • Proactively monitor language quality performance via LQA reports, take action to address issues in a timely manner, and flag quality risks to the Quality team.
  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Experienced linguist with extensive translation and review experience in the product and marketing sectors.
  • Native speaker of Danish with fluent English skills.
  • Typically, 5+ years as a linguist; at least 2 years of Copy Editing/Review and LQAs.
  • Active user of digital platforms with familiarity with marketing content and product-specific materials.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Soft skills: feedback, coaching, training, and negotiation with stakeholders.
  • Availability for the required weekly time allocation, with some reasonable flexibility.

  • Experienced reviewer with familiarity in linguistic tasks and deep knowledge of Danish culture and language nuances.
  • Effective communicator with strong client-facing experience.
  • Strong understanding of quality performance management processes and goals.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to follow guidelines and meet deadlines.
  • Business acumen with critical thinking skills and flexibility to meet changing client needs.
