Position Summary

Sikich is looking for a D365 Business Central Engagement Manager who is responsible for leading client engagements, ensuring successful delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations, enhancements, and support initiatives. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients, project teams, and stakeholders—driving project execution, managing scope, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting best practices within the Business Central ecosystem.

 

What will you do in this role?

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong client executive relationships to ensure high satisfaction and long-term success with D365 Business Central.
  • Facilitate requirement workshops, status meetings, and executive updates via our client managed service agreement quarterly business reviews.
  • Support proposal development, engagement scoping, and SOW execution for both new and ongoing work.
  • Provide executive-level oversight of multiple client engagements, ensuring quality delivery, consistency, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead project management efforts on larger, strategic, or complex projects.
  • Oversee implementation of project schedules, dependencies, resource planning, and budgets.
  • Monitor engagement-level risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure delivery teams follow structured methodology and Microsoft-approved best practices.
  • Guide clients through process transformation, system configuration decisions, and data migration planning.
  • Monitor project risks and issues and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, technical consultants, developers, and QA resources to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Coordinate integration activities with other Microsoft applications (Power Platform, Dynamics CE, Azure services) and third-party solutions.
  • Track and manage project financials, including forecasts, billing, and budget compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion or continuous improvement.
  • Maintain business with existing clients and proactively identify business opportunities with new consulting clients within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Work with practice leads, Principals, Solution Architects and sales team to identify new and expand existing business opportunities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership within the company and in public forums (blogs, articles, presentations, etc.)
  • Support Business Development by providing insight into industry-specific processes and best practices.
  • Educate clients on Business Central capabilities, roadmap updates, and best practices.

 

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • 5+ years of experience leading ERP or D365 Business Central/NAV projects.
  • Strong background in project management and client engagement.
  • Understanding Business Central core modules (Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, Projects, Warehousing).
  • Proven success managing multi-phase or complex ERP engagements.
  • Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to travel 10% to 20% if required. 

 

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certifications (Functional Consultant, MB-800).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or similar project management credentials.
  • Experience in related Microsoft technologies (Copilot, AI, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Industry-specific ERP experience (manufacturing, distribution, service management, retail).

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the base salary range for this role is $147.900.
