Cybersecurity Intern, Summer 2026

TLDR

Support the day-to-day operations of the security operation center by analyzing security logs, responding to incident alerts, and collaborating with the Cybersecurity team.

Tyler Technologies is looking for Cybersecurity Interns to join our team this summer! The Cybersecurity Intern role will focus on supporting the day-to-day work of the security operation center (SOC). Cybersecurity Interns will research current attack trends and methodologies, track sources of malware and be able to identify how clients’ network infrastructure may have been compromised. They will communicate effectively within the team and work cooperatively with Cybersecurity team members to ensure the highest quality and timely reporting to the Tyler Cybersecurity client base. Cybersecurity Interns are also responsible for responding to real-time security event alerts by performing log analysis investigations. Cybersecurity interns will be responsible for Tier 1 support for client requests, escalating to Cybersecurity Senior Analysts as needed.

Primary working hours: 7:00AM – 3:30PM EST.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality analysis of Tyler Cybersecurity clients’ logs: firewalls, operating systems, web servers, etc.  
  • Remain up to date on current information security trends and research techniques in the industry.   
  • Possess excellent time management skills.   
  • Function effectively in a team environment.   
  • Display excellent written and verbal skills.   
  • Provide additional assistance as needed when staffing or workload issues arise.   
  • Communicate with clients in a prompt and professional manner. 
  • Provide high quality service to Cybersecurity clients as necessary. 
  • Assist Cybersecurity Team Lead(s)/Manager(s) in identifying potential quality related issues. 
  • Assist Cybersecurity Threat Detection Analyst in identifying potential threat detection related issues. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Tyler Cybersecurity leadership.  

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology, Cyber Security or similar 
  • Familiarity with Information Security 
  • Working computer networking knowledge 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
