Cybersecurity Engineer I (CSE1)
Location:NIWC Pacific – San Diego, CA
Salary Range: 100 - 110K/year
Certification Required: Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT/IAM/IASAE Level I compliant)
Experience: 1 year of experience
Strategic Data Systems is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to help implement and maintain cybersecurity protections across mission-critical networks at NIWC Pacific. This role supports cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability mitigation, and system security monitoring within secure RDT&E environments.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoD policies and standards
Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and compliance requirements
Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures to improve network defense and resilience
Support incident response activities and security breach reporting
Ensure protection of digital systems, infrastructure, and sensitive data
Assist with security documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking
Qualifications
Security+ certification (DoD 8570 compliant – IAT/IAM/IASAE Level I)
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with computer science concentration, or related field preferred
Active Secret Security Clearance
