About the Role:

We’re seeking a seasoned Cyber Cloud Strategist – Network Security (SME Level: Computer Systems Engineer/Architect) to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud and network architectures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
This high-impact role combines strategic advisory with hands-on engineering, driving federal enterprise security modernization initiatives, assessing vulnerabilities, and developing secure infrastructure strategies aligned with FISMA, NIST, and Zero-Trust frameworks.

Candidates must meet Public Trust clearance requirements.

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years of technical experience designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or other related fields
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND RESIDE IN THE U.S. All work must be performed in the U.S.
  • Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants’ history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.

Description:
Designs, implements, and optimizes secure cloud and network architectures in multi-cloud environments, bridging enterprise-level strategy with hands-on DevSecOps execution. Provides technical expertise in integrating zero-trust principles, network automation, and multi-cloud security controls into scalable cloud platforms. Works closely with strategists and DevSecOps teams to translate security strategy into operationalized, automated solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure cloud and network architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP hybrid environments.
  • Lead enterprise network modernization and zero-trust transformation initiatives.
  • Engineer and deploy secure connectivity solutions (VPCs, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
  • Develop automation pipelines for network and security provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and DHS-specific security controls.
  • Collaborate with architects and DevSecOps teams to align cloud designs with cost optimization, scalability, and compliance goals.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on network defense, identity and access management, and incident response strategies.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in network security, cloud strategy, or cyber architecture.
  • Deep expertise in cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid network design.
  • Strong working knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, SIEM tools, IAM, and incident response methodologies.
  • Proven experience implementing Zero-Trust and NIST-aligned security frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success integrating network automation and security in CI/CD environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship (Public Trust eligibility required).

  • AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or Security Specialty
  • Azure Security Engineer or Network Engineer Associate
  • GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate / Red Hat Ansible Automation
  • CISSP or CCSP
