We currently have a Customer Service & Network Flooding Technician to join our team in St Austell.
Joining us on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, you will receive a competitive salary of £27,768 - £37,348 per annum.
Core hours are 37 per week
As the CS&N Flooding Technician you will be embedded with the CS&N team to provide specialised support around matters relating to Internal Flooding and External Flooding. Working alongside the Pollution and Planned Work Technicians, the Flooding Technician will become an integral part of the area Network team, acting as a main point of contact for flooding.
Duties:
Take the lead at a local area level on flooding management, primarily focussed on incident management, recording and reporting on internal systems (FIRS)
Track and manage internal flooding and external flooding incidents (within property curtilages) through to resolution, ensuring all data is entered onto FIRS in line with the business process timescales
Responsible for ensuring flooding feedback has been accurately recorded so that the Flooding Reporting Team are able to report on our flooding events and process the necessary GSS payments accordingly
Promote further work for asset failures that are within property curtilages and track to completion. This includes reactive repairs, RIO, planned programme, CCTV investigations, reactive cleansing, hydraulic modelling, flood mitigation modelling, LYL/FOG investigations
Track NSA performance for flooding work submitted to ensure timescales are being met. Escalate service failures to Asset Manager
Supporting the Pollution Technician with their pollution and flooding investigations, including promotion of Section 81 repairs (if required) and providing cover for them in their absence, if required, assist the Pollution Technician with the preparation of Incident Summary Reports for submission to the Regulator covering ‘no impact’, ‘third party’ and non-event scenarios
Work with the Planned Work Technician to ensure that MST frequencies are changed as required and MST’s are removed/added
Ensure that Health and Safety policies and standards are adhered to at all times
Take part in an Out of hours rota if required
What we are looking for:
5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent including Maths, English and a Science subject; or
ONC / City and Guilds in relevant subject or NVQ Waste Water Process or Sewerage Control Level 2 standard of competence or HNC / Water Diploma
Technical outlook and ability to analyse and administer varied data sources to make decision and or present information for action
Use of computer systems which will include both MS Office
Ability to adapt to changes within the wastewater services team and able to flex activities to support the wider team
Full UK Drivers Licence
Ability to undertake out of hours standby duties
