We are currently hiring a Custom Clearance Officer to join our Vivo Energy Madagascar Team. As a Custom Clearance Officer, you will ensure proper custom clearance for all company import, duties and taxes. You will be responsible that all importation and bunkering activities comply with the Malagasy laws and procedures and guarantee that all related invoices are correctly handled and timely paid.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all imports, exports & bunkering activities comply with Malagasy laws & procedures
  • Timely ensure fuel product clearance in order to avoid payment of penalty fees, over cost, and stock out.
  • Manage custom clearance process of packed products (lubricants) and equipment in order to avoid payment of demurrage to support timely delivery to customers
  • Ensure that all fuels, lubes and other packed products order agreed are ordered on the system before clearance
  • Make sure and follow up reimbursement of duties and taxes related to bunkering activities
  • Manage contract with custom clearance agent
  • Ensure the interface between C&P and Supply, in order to manage the purchasing of goods, services and equipment
  • Ensure that all invoices are properly managed and paid on time
  • Ensure with lubricants supply team that all Lubes importation are covered by insurance
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to custom clearance
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and laws and ensure adherence to any new requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping of all custom clearance activities

Requirements

  • Master degree in International trade, logistics, custom or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Malagasy custom clearance regulations and procedures
  • Experience in preparing and submitting customs documentation
  • Organized, have a good discipline and work in a methodic way
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to manage priorities and deadline
  • Demonstrate experience in managing relationship & teamwork
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • High integrity
  • Mastering the computer works
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using custom clearance software and tools
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and French
