Acorns is seeking a mission-driven Community & Culture Specialist to serve as a key connector for our remote-first community while acting as a steward for our Irvine office. You will play a vital role in bridging the gap between our remote culture and in-office presence, acting as an event producer for onsite gatherings and ensuring every team member feels connected to our mission.
Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA. This role requires a consistent in-office presence in our Irvine office (typically 2 days per week) to oversee facility operations, mail and vendor deliveries, with increased on-site leadership during Community Weeks.
What you will do at Acorns:
-
Event Production & Experiences
Lead end-to-end production of quarterly "Community Weeks" and departmental onsites including vendor coordination, logistics, and day-of execution to deliver high-quality experiences
-
Culture & Community Engagement
Partner closely with the VP of Culture & Community on company-wide All Hands meetings, owning coordination of key segments (e.g., customer stories) and tracking engagement
Own the internal community calendar, including monthly virtual trivia, and in-person Community Day across our offices (Irvine & NYC).
Manage community touchpoints and milestone initiatives, including the procurement and distribution of 10-year anniversary gifts, and execution of company-wide fitness challenges
Execute new hire experience initiatives, including onboarding communications and swag distribution
-
Content, Communication & Knowledge Management
Create and manage internal communications (e.g., weekly Slack recognitions, monthly new hire announcements, community updates)
Maintain and update internal culture resources (e.g., Confluence pages, onboarding materials) to ensure visibility and education across our growing team
-
Insights & Continuous Improvement
Own engagement analytics across community initiatives, leveraging surveys, feedback and data to continuously improve programming and impact
-
Operations & Vendor Management:
Manage day-to-day office operations for the Irvine location, including mail processing, inventory management, and facilities partnership, serving as the primary point of contact for all culture and facilities vendors.
Partner with Procurement on vendor management and ensure all cultural investments are high-impact and cost-effective
Track and manage community and office-related spend, ensuring alignment with budget and effective resource allocation
What you will bring to Acorns:
Event Production Expertise: Proven experience coordinating multi-day events with complex logistics, vendor management, and a high attention to aesthetic and hospitality details.
Operational Excellence: Proficiency in Google Suite, Figma and experience using AI tools to streamline workflows. Familiarity with Confluence, Slack, and procurement tools like Zip is helpful.
Exceptional Communication: Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to pivot between professional logistics and engaging, inclusive communication for our global Slack channels.
Ownership & Vision: A self-starter who doesn't just follow a checklist but looks for ways to "uplevel" our community programs and improve the employee experience.
Hunger to deliver game-changing products.
Exceptional drive and precision in delivery.
A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission.
