About This Role

As the CRO Funnel Strategist, you'll lead the strategic optimization of marketing funnels, landing pages, and offers. This is a strategy role, not just execution. We need someone who brings bold ideas to the table, not minor headline tweaks.

You'll be the go-to expert for building and refining high-performing landing pages, crafting compelling offers, and eliminating friction across the buyer journey. Working within the marketing team and closely with design, copy, and media buying, you'll own performance improvements across every stage of the funnel, from first touch to final conversion.

This role is a blend of conversion psychology, funnel architecture, offer testing, and hands-on execution using tools like Unbounce, WordPress, ClickFunnels, and Everflow. You should have strong instincts for persuasive messaging, a deep understanding of user behavior, and a relentless curiosity for testing what works.

What we're really looking for: Someone who can pitch big ideas to clients, defend those ideas when they get pushback, and never give up on the tests that matter. Our clients are fast-moving and opinionated. You need to be able to communicate clearly, hold your ground, and bring the strategic thinking that moves the needle.

Responsibilities:

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) & Funnel Performance

  • Analyze full-funnel performance using key metrics (CTR, bounce rate, drop-off points, CVR, AOV, LTV)

  • Own the A/B and multivariate testing roadmap: headlines, offers, layouts, form fields, and CTAs

  • Translate test results into clear insights and iterate quickly based on performance data

  • Collaborate with copywriters and designers to test new hooks, page structures, and creative formats

Landing Page & Funnel Development

  • Build and optimize landing pages from the ground up using tools like Unbounce, ClickFunnels, and WordPress

  • Ensure mobile-first design, fast load times, and seamless UX across devices

  • Apply persuasive design principles and usability best practices to drive conversions

  • Maintain and evolve page templates, conversion assets, and offer layouts across products and verticals

Experimentation Program Ownership

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of conversion experiments: from hypothesis and wireframe to launch and post-test analysis

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (design, copy, dev) to deliver tests on time and within scope

  • Build scalable systems for documenting tests, learnings, and performance impact

  • Drive alignment on which funnel improvements to prioritize, based on effort vs. impact and business objectives

Offer Design & Messaging Strategy

  • Develop, refine, and test offers that align with customer intent and pain points

  • Work with strategy and product teams to shape pricing structures, bonus stacking, urgency elements, and guarantee structures

  • Build messaging frameworks across funnel touchpoints (ads, LPs, email, retargeting) that reinforce a compelling value proposition

Funnel Architecture & Marketing Automation

  • Design and document end-to-end funnel flows for new campaigns, upsells, and lead-gen initiatives

  • Implement automation workflows across tools like Zapier, Make, and GoHighLevel to reduce manual lift

  • Integrate CRM, email, and retargeting logic to maintain consistency across touchpoints

  • Conduct periodic funnel audits and teardown competitor flows for insights and inspiration

AI Integration

  • Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, etc.) to accelerate copy iteration, landing page ideation, and funnel optimization

  • Build and refine AI workflows that improve speed and output quality

  • Stay current on AI developments and identify opportunities to integrate new tools into existing processes

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in a marketing role with a proven track record in an in-house or agency environment

  • Education: BA/BS degree in marketing or business preferred, or equivalent work experience

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience improving conversion rates for digital offers, e-commerce, lead gen, or info products

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to pitch ideas, handle pushback, and advocate for tests that matter

  • Able to clearly communicate test results and performance trends to non-technical stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, test-and-learn marketing environment

  • A sharp eye for design, user experience, and persuasive visual hierarchy

  • Deep knowledge of buyer psychology, direct response copywriting, and user behavior analysis

  • Experience using AI tools to improve marketing workflows and output

  • Landing Page Builders: Unbounce, ClickFunnels, Instapage, WordPress

  • Automation Tools: Zapier, Make, GoHighLevel
