The Credit Risk & ALM Risk Officer will be responsible for:

  • Providing independent Second Line of Defence (2LOD) oversight of credit risk and ALM activities, focusing on loan origination, credit monitoring, and treasury-driven ALM decisions.
  • Credit Risk Management:
    • Perform and oversee regular loan controls, ensuring adherence to credit lending policy
    • Contribute to credit-worthiness and collateral risk assessments for new lending requests
    • Support the review and enhancement of pledge-rate methodologies across asset classes
  • ALM Activities:
    • Perform and oversee ALM-related controls to ensure alignment with ALM policy
    • Develop and monitor the treasury counterparty onboarding and monitoring framework
    • Conduct SICR assessments and lead ongoing monitoring of financial counterparties
  • Risk Calculations:
    • Perform credit risk capital requirements and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations
    • Governance, Reporting and Risk Framework:
    • Continuously assess and enhance the control framework
    • Prepare reports for management, regulators, and internal committees
    • Support the enhancement of risk management policies and departmental procedures
    • Provide risk assessments for new products and services
  • University degree in business, economics, finance or related field, with 5+ years of banking experience in Luxembourg or the EU
  • Demonstrated experience in risk monitoring, oversight, and challenge of first line activities
  • Advanced understanding of regulatory requirements, capital requirements, and EBA guidelines on loan origination and monitoring
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Access) and Bloomberg Terminal
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal); French is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams and functions
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
