About the Company

Our client is a leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide, powering multiple brands. Serving educators, librarians, and readers across institutional channels, our client blends technology, storytelling, and access to culture at scale. As the company continues to mature its brand portfolio, consistency, clarity, and creative excellence are critical to how its brands show up in the world.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Creative Director to partner with the internal design team and marketing leadership to elevate brand consistency, creative quality, and campaign execution across digital channels.

This role is equal parts strategic guide, working creative, and mentor. The ideal candidate brings deep design experience, strong brand instincts, and the ability to translate brand guidelines into real, repeatable execution, while also mentoring designers with clarity, patience, and respect.

This is not a purely advisory role. You will actively create, mock up, refine, and ship work while helping the team learn how and why great brand work gets done.

Prioritized Responsibilities

Brand Stewardship & Creative Direction

●     Reinforce brand consistency across multi-brand portfolio

●     Translate brand guidelines into practical, usable systems for designers and marketers

●     Ensure campaigns are immediately recognizable, on-brand, and emotionally resonant

●     Provide an external, objective point of view to elevate creative decision-making

Hands-On Creative Execution

●     Concept, design, and mock up digital-first creative (campaigns, templates, retail marketplace assets, toolkits)

●     Partner closely with designers to refine work in progress, not just review at the end

●     Build clear creative briefs and visual examples that teams can execute against

●     Help establish best practices for usage of design tools while encouraging smart experimentation

Team Enablement & Mentorship

●     Coach designers on best practices in branding, layout, typography, and visual systems

●     Model how to interpret a brief and translate it into effective creative

●     Build confidence and capability within the team so they can operate more independently over time

●     Help create a respectful, collaborative learning environment

Campaign Thinking & Entertainment Value

●     Apply entertainment and storytelling tactics to institutional and educational audiences

●     Ensure campaigns are engaging without drifting off-brand

●     Help teams balance cultural relevance with long-term brand equity

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in design and brand marketing, with time spent as a Creative Director or Associate Creative Director

  • Experience building, evolving, or enforcing brand systems that are applied to multiple assets, campaigns, and channels
  • Comfort working inside established teams and navigating real-world constraints
  • Background in entertainment, media, streaming, or culture-driven brands preferred
