The Role

Exposure is growing and looking for a Creative Director to join our New York team to lead one of the fastest growing global, beauty brands.

The CD will be responsible for overseeing broad design initiatives, providing comprehensive 360 creative and strategic design leadership. Working with global brands in beauty, fashion and culture, the successful candidate will have a strong creative point-of-view, passion for developing and selling best-in-class work, a collaborative style, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry. They will need to have a contemporary eye for design and art direction in a fast-evolving culture. Must be well organized with a strong ability to manage time and workload, having experience managing designers in an agency style division. Experience in art direction and creative direction in the beauty space and heavy photo and video production are a must.


Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Oversee creative development and 360 concept driven product marketing campaign ideation, ensuring all goals are met and creative quality meets a best-in-class standard.
  • Willingness to be hands-on in design programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) while directing and overseeing other designers, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure the team delivers work that is exceptional creatively and aligned with internal and client strategy, delivering on the brief. Understands the lifecycle of a concept driven product campaign: brief, brainstorm and concept ideation, moodboard and still print intention, video storyboards and production needs.
  • Be highly communicative and responsive across the company (Outlook, Teams, in-person meetings) while managing a large volume of projects ensuring creative team adheres to timelines and budgets
  • Have a deep understanding of long-term creative business needs and able to express to fellow senior leadership team
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets, able to flag to fellow senior leadership team when issues arise.
  • High level of confidence pitching creative work direct to client, engaging in articulate dialogue and conversation.
  • Lead the visual Ideation and execution of concepts from brainstorm through photo and video asset delivery
  • Direct photo and video production teams while managing internal creative and clients on set.
  • Keep abreast of new media and current cultural and design trends.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of beauty creative direction and design experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience successfully leading and working with creative teams
  • Knowledge of all aspects of design, pre-production, production and post-production is essential.
  • Experience working in lifestyle and beauty landscape
  • Deep understanding of social content, specifically Tik Tok and Instagram
  • Willing to travel to LA up to five times per-year and internationally up to two times per-year

  • Highly collaborative and adaptive to working with all disciplines within the agency (Account, Strategy, Production)
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to push back on clients/vendors where appropriate
  • A real love and passion for the beauty and fashion landscape
  • Tapped into Gen Z culture and audience

Salary bracket: $100k to $150k depending on experience
