The Opportunity

OES is expanding its in-house creative team to support the marketing function, and we’re looking for an experienced Creative Director to help lead and shape this next chapter. This is a unique opportunity to influence how we approach marketing creative, guiding a talented team to deliver smart, performance-focused content across multiple university brands. You’ll work across platforms like Meta and YouTube, creating everything from static social assets to video and motion graphics that drive real results.

You’ll be the key connection between our Marketing Managers and our creative delivery team translating campaign goals into compelling, conversion-focused creative. This role is hands-on, strategic, and ideal for someone excited to elevate and evolve an established team into a high-performing marketing creative function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve and lead in-house creative team focused on delivering performance marketing assets across multiple university brands.
  • Develop platform-fit creative for Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and other digital channels including static social, video, UGC, and motion graphics.
  • Translate campaign briefs into compelling creative concepts that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Establish efficient creative workflows, tools, and systems to support scalable delivery.
  • Set and uphold high standards for creative excellence across all stages of the marketing funnel.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in creative testing, optimisation, and iteration.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing Managers, performance media team, and internal stakeholders to ensure creative aligns with campaign goals.
  • Stay across industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Use performance data, audience insights, and market research to inform creative strategy and execution.

 

About You

  • 8–10+ years in creative leadership roles, ideally with agency experience and/or exposure to multiple brands
  • Proven success in performance marketing and digital-first campaigns
  • Deep understanding of social platforms (Meta, YouTube, TikTok) and user behaviour
  • Experience working closely with performance agencies and media teams
  • Hands-on approach; comfortable rolling up your sleeves
  • Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen and a growth orientation
  • Collaborative leadership style suited to a flat team structure
  • Experience in building or transforming in-house creative teams is a big plus
