About the Team
AllTrails is building a global outdoors brand. We launch and scale creative, impactful initiatives to bring the brand to life, drive awareness, and bring more people to the AllTrails brand.
The Creative Director is responsible for developing creative concepts that make AllTrails a beloved brand and a household name. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this person will drive brand and marketing creative from concept to execution. The right candidate brings deep creative leadership experience, is an expert storyteller, and a seasoned creative strategist. Above all, this person is inspired by empowering people around the world to access the outdoors.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Developing creative concepts that deepen existing users’ connection with AllTrails, capture the attention of new audiences, generate buzz, wow industry peers, and fuel long-term growth
- Creating big, bold brand moments - connecting our brand values to consumer moments or consumer truths - that drive conversation and raise our brand profile
- Leading the creative team that delivers creative assets for a range of marketing channels channels; coaching and developing team members so that they can do their best work
- Inspiring the creative team and broader organization to dream big about what the AllTrails brand can be; evolving brand creative guidelines and raising the bar and to take our visual brand to the next level
- Ensuring that our marketing communications are on strategy, on brand, and drive results
- Understanding our audiences so that we can find ways to connect with them authentically
- Partnering across the entire organization - from research to marketing to product - to bring the brand to life across all consumer touchpoints, constantly elevating the brand expression
- Building the playbook for processes and practices to shape and grow an impactful brand
- Being on set to direct photo and video shoots
- Acting creatively, resourcefully, and rapidly to solve a range of challenges, diving in wherever it is needed; not only developing the strategy, but being comfortable executing as well
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience developing brand and marketing creative, with an emphasis on digital brands
- 5+ years of experience building and leading world-class creative teams
- Experience working with a variety of marketing channels, from digital and video to OOH and in-real-life activations
- A portfolio of projects to demonstrate setting the bar for creative excellence; proven track record of marketing campaigns that have driven impact
- Strong brand instincts, with an innate ability to tell stories that resonate with the AllTrails target audience
- Expert communication skills, including the ability to persuade and inspire; and turn complex messages into simple and compelling consumer campaigns
- Empathy, open-mindedness, and humility
- Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed

- Experience working at a mobile-first B2C company
- High-growth or subscription business experience
