CPD Field Trialist Intern - Pietermaritzburg

ROLE PURPOSE 

We are seeking a driven and scientifically curious CPD Intern based in Pietermaritzburg to contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative crop protection solutions through hands-on field activities. This role is crucial for enhancing Syngenta's product pipeline by assisting with the execution and data collection of field trials. The ideal candidates will be passionate about agricultural science and eager to apply their knowledge in practical, field-oriented environments.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

• Gain practical, hands-on experience by contributing to real business projects that impact Syngenta's operations and strategic objectives.
• Develop professional competencies by working alongside experienced colleagues across different functions and teams.
• Build a comprehensive understanding of Syngenta's business, products, and the agricultural industry.
• Apply academic knowledge to solve practical business challenges and contribute to departmental goals.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture or B. Agric)
• Have strong academic performance and motivation 
• Valid Driving license
• Proficiency in data analysis, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong language skills (Afrikaans and English).
• Agriculture understanding/exposure is beneficial for technical understanding.
