We are looking for a Country / Regional Leader to make EBANX the leading payments partner across their market(s), driving sustainable growth, profitability, and market leadership.

This role combines strategic ownership, partnership leadership, regulatory interface, commercial acceleration, operational enablement, and cultural leadership. You will be responsible for driving YoY growth, Gross Profit (GP), RoAV, and diversification, ensuring EBANX’s long-term competitiveness and compliance in the region.

You will oversee one or more countries, working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, PPO, TTR (Treasury, Tax & Regulatory), Compliance, Legal, and Commercial teams.

Your day-to-day impact:

  • Drive YoY country growth, owning GP ($) and RoAV (%) performance in line with budget targets;
  • Develop and execute market entry and growth strategies for prioritized countries, ensuring alignment with EBANX’s global strategy;
  • Conduct in-depth market assessments, identifying new opportunities aligned with EBANX’s ICPs and expanding the commercial pipeline;
  • Define competitive positioning and support tailored go-to-market strategies for each local market;
  • Partner closely with Commercial leadership, contributing to C-level strategic discussions and accelerating market growth;
  • Provide local insights to support merchants, prospects, and commercial initiatives;
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with banks, payment processors, and key stakeholders, driving cost efficiency and redundancy strategies;
  • Lead initiatives to reduce processing costs and anticipation fees through continuous negotiations with local providers;
  • Drive operational performance improvements, ensuring seamless onboarding and accelerating time-to-revenue;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, and Finance teams to enable scalable and compliant solutions;
  • Provide local insights to influence product development, roadmap prioritization, and operational readiness;
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulators, supporting licensing processes and ensuring full compliance with local requirements;
  • Implement risk mitigation frameworks aligned with global compliance standards and ensure audit readiness;
  • Deliver market intelligence and regulatory insights to inform EBANX’s strategy and execution;
  • Represent EBANX in industry events, forums, and external engagements, strengthening brand presence and credibility;
  • Build and lead a high-performing regional team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and cross-functional alignment;
  • Act as an EBANX ambassador, promoting culture, engagement, and collaboration across the region;

Must-haves to shine in this role:

  • Proven experience in leading market expansion, country growth, or regional operations within fintech, payments, or financial services;
  • Strong track record of owning P&L or key financial metrics such as GP and margins (e.g., RoAV);
  • Deep understanding of local payments ecosystems, including banking infrastructure, payment methods, and regulatory environments;
  • Solid experience in building and managing strategic partnerships with banks, processors, and key market players;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage C-level executives internally and externally;
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Commercial teams;
  • Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments with a high level of ownership and accountability;
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans;
  • Advanced English proficiency for global communication;

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in high-growth or international expansion environments across LATAM, Africa, or Asia;
  • Previous experience in payments orchestration, cross-border payments, or alternative payment methods (APMs);
  • Familiarity with regulatory licensing processes and direct interaction with local regulators;
  • Experience optimizing cost structures, including processing costs and FX or anticipation fees;
  • Strong network within local financial ecosystems (banks, regulators, fintechs, and partners);
  • Experience representing companies in industry forums, panels, or external strategic discussions;
