ABOUT THE POSITION

Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

100% Telecommuting Position: May work from anywhere in the U.S. mainland and/or territories.

The Cost Estimator leads and contributes to the development of conceptual estimates and pricing strategies along with assumptions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collect, manage and apply historical costs from existing projects to future projects.
  • Support the project execution team by providing design spec review support and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract/change order cost review.
  • Prepare and manage engineering, procurement, and construction EPC pricing throughout pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Analyze and review estimates provided by EPCs to ensure cost accuracy and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Bachelor's degree in Construction or Building Science, or Energy Systems Management
  • 2 years' experience in overseeing the cost estimating of renewable energy sector projects, specifically large-scale PV and BESS projects, including: running Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) models for commercial offtake; creating PV and BESS cost models; reviewing electrical and structural field engineering work for cost validation, and proposing technical solutions for quality/efficiencies; and leading estimating efforts to prepare pricing inputs for Power Purchase Agreement Request for Proposal bids.
