Cost Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team at Dangote Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting in alignment with accounting principles, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze cost reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
• Conduct cost audits and provide insights into cost variances.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to review and control costs, budgets, and expenditures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of cost control procedures.
• Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Monitor inventory and production costs to ensure efficiency.
• Provide management with financial insights and recommendations based on cost trends and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies throughout financial operations.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the finance manager.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in cost accounting or similar roles in manufacturing sector.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CMA is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to compile and interpret financial data.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.

• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
