Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Planning & Strategy Specialist to drive the company’s next stage of growth. This role sits at the intersection of corporate strategy, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), equity finance, debt finance including the relationship with banks, and future investor relations (IR) as the company prepares for a potential IPO in the coming years.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, financial planning, fundraising and investor relations. This position requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, complex financial modeling and bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Strategy & Planning
Support the development and execution of corporate strategies and mid- to long-term business plans
Conduct market analysis, competitive research, and strategic business analysis
Prepare strategic reports and materials for executive leadership and board discussions
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Analyze business performance, identify key drivers, and provide actionable insights to leadership
Support the formulation of mid-term management plans and business strategies
Own the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure financial alignment with strategic goals.
Equity & Debt Financing
Lead the execution of fundraising initiatives, including equity rounds and debt financing (bank loans/alternative financing)
Coordinate the due diligence (DD) process, acting as a point of contact for data room management and investor inquiries.
Lead the development and maintenance of complex financial models (3-statement models) and high-quality pitch deck to support valuation and strategic decision-making.
IPO Preparation & Investor Relations (IR)
Support IPO preparation initiatives in collaboration with management and external advisors
Lead the creation of high-quality financial materials, including the equity story and investor presentation decks, based on in-depth market research and benchmarking.
Serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders (investors, auditors, and potential underwriters) after IPO
Establish internal processes necessary for a public company, including compliance and governance readiness
Qualifications:
Must to have
Bachelor’s degree
3 - 8 years of professional experience in one or more of the following:
o Corporate planning / corporate strategy
o FP&A or financial analysis
o Management consulting
o Investment banking / investment firms
o Startup or high-growth technology companies
o Transaction Services, Valuations, or M&A advisory at Big 4 firm
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
o Advanced proficiency in building and maintaining complex, integrated financial models (3-statement models) and valuation simulations from scratch using Excel/Google Sheets.
o Deep understanding of financial statements, unit economics, and capital structures.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
o Proven ability to craft high-quality, logically structured, and visually compelling presentation materials (Pitch Decks) for executive leadership and external investors.
Industry Interest
o Passion for or experience in deep-tech, robotics, hardware industries.

Financing & IPO Exposure
o Direct experience in executing equity/debt financing rounds or supporting the IPO preparation process.
o Familiarity with collaborating with external stakeholders, such as lead underwriters (securities firms), auditors, and legal counsel.

Reporting Line:
Reports to: Head of Corporate based in Tokyo
Employment Terms:
Contract Term: No fixed term
Probation Period: 3 months (may be extended up to 6 months)
Work Location: Headquarters office – Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo (May be subject to change to another location designated by the company)
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (8 working hours/day with a 1-hour break)
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays (including year-end and New Year holidays)
Salary: Annual salary system
Social Insurance: Full coverage under the Japanese social insurance system
