  • Cognite’s Legal team is responsible for providing legal advice to all of the company's business and corporate activities as well as handling the corporate compliance function. We are seeking a Company Secretary and Compliance Officer that will report directly to Cognite’s General Counsel.   • How you'll create impact
  • The role will entail providing global legal assistance related to Cognite’s overall activities with the main focus on:
  • India & MENA Entity Secretarial: Manage all corporate secretarial requirements (filings, board minutes, registers) for Cognite's India and MENA entities.
  • Regional Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local regulatory and legal requirements in India and MENA.
  • Global Legal Support: Provide general legal and compliance assistance to all business departments globally.
  • Policy & Compliance Safeguard: Implement and enforce internal policies and safeguard compliance with all outside regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Some of the specific responsibilities will be:
  • Manage all corporate secretarial obligations for Cognite's India entity, including annual filings, board resolutions, meeting minutes, statutory registers, and government reporting.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for local regulatory bodies and external corporate services providers in India.
  • Manage and coordinate all labour and employment law filings, RBI FEMA filings etc. 
  • Working with legal tech tools to automate the legal department
  • Assist with the implementation and enforcement of internal company policies, company wide compliance and ethics training
  • Customer, partner and vendor background checks and compliance due diligence 
  • Support the India and MENA office and the global legal team with ad-hoc legal tasks
  • Ad-hoc support of other functions such as finance, corporate development and P&O.

  • What will you bring
  • Law degree (India Qualified) and Qualified Company Secretary (under ICSI)
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as Company Secretary in an Indian Company. 
  • Minimum 3 years relevant legal experience (in-house legal department, law firm or relevant authorities)
  • Practical and commercial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and fluent in English
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, often with tight deadlines, with understanding of the legal in-house role
  • Positive attitude
  • Eager to learn and explore new areas of law and processes. 
  • Nice to have:Experience with GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001 and EU data protection and privacy regulations
  • Experience working with compliance and practices in the MENA region is preferred.
