About the Role:
We are building a dedicated function to drive payabl.’s expansion into new territories and support the launch of innovative products and services. As Corporate Affairs Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s global growth by coordinating market assessments, licence applications, go-to-market planning, and the development of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
This is a high-impact role offering exposure to strategic decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and engagement with regulators and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. It is ideal for someone with regulatory or legal experience in payments, fintech, or e-money who is eager to contribute to strategic projects and business expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Expansion & Licensing:
- Coordinate assessments of new jurisdictions for potential business expansion, including regulatory, legal, and market analysis.
- Support preparation and submission of licence applications in new territories (e.g., MSO, EMI, MSB, or equivalent).
- Liaise with external counsel, consultants, and regulators to obtain legal opinions, regulatory guidance, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain regulatory project trackers, timelines, and documentation requirements.
Go-to-Market & Strategy Execution:
- Support the development of go-to-market plans for new territories, products, or services.
- Conduct structured research on regulatory requirements, competitive landscape, and operational considerations for market entry.
- Assist in drafting business plans, market assessments, and internal strategy papers.
Internal Stakeholder Coordination:
- Facilitate communication between Compliance, Legal, Product, Risk, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on regulatory and operational obligations.
- Consolidate inputs from internal stakeholders for market expansion or new product launch workstreams.
- Prepare key project documentation and support cross-functional working groups.
Compliance Framework Development:
- Assist in designing regulatory and compliance frameworks required in new jurisdictions, including policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Help ensure new services or markets meet ongoing regulatory compliance requirements, including AML/CTF, safeguarding, governance, and conduct rules.
- Participate in drafting documentation for supervisory submissions or regulator queries.
New Services Launch Support:
- Support execution of the roadmap for new products or services, including regulatory gap analysis, operational readiness checks, and stakeholder coordination.
- Assist in drafting internal and external documentation required for new service approvals.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in a regulatory, legal, licensing, or compliance role within payments, e-money, fintech, or financial services.
- Experience supporting licence applications or regulatory submissions.
- Exposure to international regulatory environments or multi-jurisdiction projects.
- Familiarity with product launch processes, business case development, or go-to-market planning.
- Project coordination or project management experience.
- Solid understanding of payments regulation such as PSD2, EMRs, AML/CTF frameworks, and licensing requirements (internationally).
- Experience working with external counsel, regulators, or consultants.
- Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, curious, and adaptable team player.
- Strong communicator who can work across multiple teams.
- Problem solver who enjoys regulatory and strategic challenges.

- CDD/KYC processes, AML regulations, and compliance frameworks, preferably in the UK, Cyprus or Lithuania.
- Experience handling B2B clients, particularly in banking and acquiring sectors.
- Ability to explain compliance requirements clearly and manage client relationships.
- Confident working autonomously and making decisions when needed.
- Proficiency in screening tools, risk assessment frameworks, and case management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to multitask and act quickly.
- Proactive and results-driven, with a positive approach to overcoming challenges.
- AML certification (e.g., CAMS or equivalent) will be a huge plus.
