WEBB Traders is looking for a final-year student to join our Core SWE Team. The responsibility of the Core team is twofold: 

  • build, maintain and improve the data systems powering all workflows within the organization, from research to production;

  • create outstanding tools and processes to support our control teams, unlock deep insights into our activity, and ultimately ensure the safety and efficiency of our operation.

You will be

  • Learning about the trading domain through training sessions and on-the-job interactions

  • Developing and optimising software solutions within various areas of the business: risk management, quantitative research, big data pipelines, etc.

  • Using a wide set of technologies such as Python, C++, Typescript and PostgreSQL to solve concrete problems with immediate return on investment

  • Actively collaborating, exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge with your team

  • Interacting with users to understand their objectives and improve their work through your technical ingenuity

Requirements

Who are you

  • Eager, curious, and a fast learner

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related

  • Available full-time (for 3-6 months)

  • Strong computer science & database fundamentals

  • Good understanding of systems architecture and networking basics

  • Hands-on experience with Python and modern C++

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a software engineering role

  • Team player who thrives in an agile and fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a ‘get it done mentality

  • Experience with web development is a big plus
