Controls & Process Improvement Manager

The Process and Controls Improvement Manager will play a key role in enhancing financial processes, strengthening control frameworks, and supporting governance activities across the Finance function. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will oversee audit coordination, manage financial reporting timetables, support risk and control monitoring, and drive process improvements.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance and external auditors, ensuring smooth coordination of statutory audits.
  • Manage audit requests, track progress, and address auditor queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of audit recommendations and process enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain the planning and coordination of statutory and regulatory reporting timetables.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory submissions.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks in reporting cycles and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Support the Finance team in maintaining the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework, ensuring risks and mitigating controls are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Assist with the management of risk registers, identifying control gaps and working with teams to implement remediation plans.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of key financial controls and operational risk requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and accuracy within finance processes.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify process gaps and implement standardised best practices.
  • Support the documentation of key financial processes, ensuring they are aligned with governance and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and control automation.

A bit about you

  • Strong experience in financial processes, controls and risk management
  • Prior experience coordinating external audits and statutory reporting processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements within a financial services environment.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and embed best practices in financial control environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • You will be comfortable working flexibly with some time required at the office.
