The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced control systems for critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Accountabilities

·         Develop and support control sequence programming for mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.

·         Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT teams to ensure control systems meet project and operational requirements.

·         Troubleshoot and repair control system hardware and software to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

·         Perform diagnostics, root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions.

·         Document engineering activities, including control logic diagrams, system configurations, electrical schematics, and change management records.

·         Support commissioning and testing of new systems and upgrades, ensuring compliance with design specifications.

·         Integrate control systems with BMS, SCADA, and other facility monitoring platforms.

·         Maintain firmware and software, ensuring security, compatibility, and performance.

·         Provide technical support during critical events, incidents, and planned maintenance.

·         Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in controls engineering.

·         Mentor and train junior team members, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Controls, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

·         4–8 years of professional experience in controls engineering, building automation systems, or industrial automation.

·         Hands-on experience with control sequence programming and integration of mechanical/electrical systems.

·         Proficiency with software platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Ignition, or similar.

·         Knowledge of BMS, SCADA systems, PLC programming, and protocols like BACnet and Modbus.

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and sequence of operations.

·         Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in mission-critical environments.

·         Excellent documentation, technical writing, communication, and collaboration skills.

·         Familiarity with data center operations or critical infrastructure environments is a plus.

·         Industry certifications (Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Rockwell, or equivalent) are a plus.

·         Ability to perform occasional travel (approximately 10%) and work flexible hours for critical operations.
