Our client is a rapidly growing company revolutionizing the wholesale vehicle market by enhancing efficiency and trust for dealers. Leveraging deep technological expertise, we streamline the supply chain through advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence.

We are seeking a Controller to support the expansion of their financial operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a strong background in full-cycle accounting and IFRS/US GAAP principles. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential to success in this role.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting functions at both consolidated and subsidiary levels.

  • Supervise a team of accountants handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly excise tax returns.

  • Review and approve weekly accounts payable runs and analyze accounts receivable projections.

  • Perform monthly multi-currency financial statement consolidations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end close and GAAP reporting compliance.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in weekly cash management and budgeting analysis.

  • Report monthly consolidated financial statements to senior leadership and conduct detailed budget-to-actual reviews.

  • Support the development of an internal control framework for PCAOB compliance.

  • Play a key role in the financial statement audit process for a group of consolidated entities.

  • Assist in formulating and implementing accounting policies and controls as the business expands.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership on financial requirements for various stakeholders.

  • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects as assigned.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • CPA designation required.

  • Experience in a national public practice firm preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing full-cycle accounting functions.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP accounting principles.

  • Familiarity with financial statement audit processes and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong follow-up abilities.

  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Xero and NetSuite.

  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.

  • Background in FP&A is an asset.

  • Ability to take initiative and be hands-on where needed.

  • Demonstrates urgency, responsiveness, and transparency in all aspects of work.
