This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the financial operations of a fast-growing, fully remote organization. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate and GAAP-compliant financial reporting, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and overseeing the consolidation of multiple subsidiaries. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, including managing an offshore bookkeeping team and optimizing financial processes. Accountabilities:
Oversee and execute a high-quality monthly close within five business days, ensuring GAAP compliance
Manage daily accounting operations and maintain the integrity of financial data and internal controls
Lead consolidation efforts for multiple subsidiaries and coordinate with external auditors
Supervise, mentor, and develop an offshore bookkeeping and billing team
Design and maintain the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structures to support scalability
Conduct monthly budget variance analysis in collaboration with cross-functional leaders
Build and maintain KPI dashboards to track company performance and financial health
Manage revenue and accounts receivable aging processes, ensuring timely collections
Respond to cross-functional reporting requests and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred
5–7 years of hands-on finance and accounting experience, including consolidation
3–5 years of leadership or managerial experience, including managing direct reports or external vendors/offshore teams
Expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO), Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting/close management software
Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate variances beyond the numbers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across remote teams
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience optimizing accounting technology and automating financial processes and dashboards
Background in a digital marketing agency or professional services environment
