Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting for Infragistics Inc and Subsidiaries. This role ensures accurate financial and management reporting in compliance with GAAP, maintains strong internal controls and accounting records, supports budgeting and forecasting, and provides financial insights to leadership. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership and operations teams to improve profitability, support strategic planning, and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close for global organization
- Responsible for all deferred revenue calculations and revenue policies surrounding software and services – requires a firm understanding of ASC606
- Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage accounting policies and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Maintain strong internal controls and improve processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency
- Drive special projects which may require technical accounting skills and the ability to effectively utilize Excel, SharePoint and NetSuite
- Manage global accounting staff and outsourced professionals
- Leverage AI for accounting across the organization
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting updates
- Track and report KPIs, including revenue, margins, and cash flow
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance
- Partner with leadership on strategic decisions such as hiring plans, pricing, and project profitability
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage company cash flow planning, including: cash flow forecasting, collections of accounts receivable and payment of accounts payable in a timely manner
- Support banking relationships, credit facilities, and payment systems
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Oversee payroll processing through BambooHR and Trax ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure compliance with payroll taxes and related filings
- Support benefits administration coordination with HR and vendors
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Manage annual audit with a high level of interaction for the external accountants to meet deliverables as specified by the Board of Directors
- Coordinate tax preparation and filings with external audit firm
- Manage sales tax, state/local filings, and compliance requirements with support from Avalara
- Lead audit/review support and respond to tax auditors’ requests
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and optimize financial systems, post implementation of NetSuite and various other supporting systems
- Improve financial reporting dashboards and automate recurring reporting
- Implement scalable processes appropriate for a small company
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA eligible
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience (Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, power pivots, vlookups, etc.), NetSuite experience is preferred
- Experience working in a small business or growth-stage company
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines
Preferred
- Experience in software development, SaaS, IT services, or professional services
- Familiarity with:
- revenue recognition for software/services including ASC606 requirements
- subscription billing, specifically with SuiteBilling
- Experience with foreign currency accounting rules and reporting requirements
- Experience with upgrading accounting/ERP systems
- Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience working with minimal supervision and experience successfully leading a team

- Month-end close consistently completed within 5 business days
- Clear, accurate financial reporting delivered to leadership on schedule
