About the Organization A mission-driven nonprofit with deep roots in the Los Angeles community, this organization has been a trusted leader in delivering impactful services across Southern California for decades. Known for its collaborative culture and commitment to integrity and innovation, the organization is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This role will play a key part in overseeing core financial operations and will report directly to the CFO. Role Overview:

Lead the organization's accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll support, and oversight of accounts payable and receivable

Work closely with the CFO on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

Supervise a small team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all financial operations

Support audits, manage financial systems and controls, and ensure adherence to internal procedures

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with GAAP and organizational policies

Contribute to the development and implementation of financial controls and best practices

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless financial operations across the organization

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

CPA, MBA or advanced degree is a plus

7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a nonprofit environment

Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and internal controls

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
