Job Summary
The Contract Manager is responsible for the governance, interpretation, and administration of renewable energy contracts and their application to progression of project development, with a primary focus on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). This role ensures contractual obligations are clearly understood, risks are proactively managed, and agreements are executed in alignment with legal and commercial intent, while supporting cross-functional teams in project execution and value delivery.
Responsibilities
· Oversee administration and governance of Power Purchase Agreements (physical and virtual PPAs) and related contracts.
· Interpret and advise on contractual rights, obligations, and remedies, including performance, pricing, and default provisions in PPAs and other legal documents.
· Interface with project teams and subject matter experts regarding project development progress and implications under contractual arrangements.
· Ensure compliance with contract requirements such as notices, milestones, and reporting obligations.
· Support negotiation and structuring of PPAs, financing agreements, and other contracts, by coordinating among internal and external teams, gathering inputs for negotiations, and identifying risks.
· Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual risks across the project portfolio.
· Translate complex contract language into actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.
· Serve as primary Legal contact for contract-related inquiries across cross-functional teams.
· Develop and maintain contract management processes, templates, and tracking tools.
· Enhance visibility into contractual obligations, risks, and milestones across projects.
· Work with the Company’s contract administrator to manage and improve contract management tools and repositories, and ensure accurate documentation, organization, version control and maintenance of contract files, including tracking milestones and contractual obligations.
· Maintain accurate records, generate reports for senior management, and provide guidance on contract-related decisions.

Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Energy Management, Legal Studies or related field.
· 5–10+ years of experience in contract management, energy markets, project management, or renewable project development.
· Direct experience with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
· Strong understanding of renewable energy markets (solar, storage, wind).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Experience with virtual PPAs (VPPAs) and structured energy transactions preferred.
· Familiarity with ISDA agreements, hedging structures, or energy trading preferred.
· Experience working within or closely with in-house legal teams preferred.
· JD or legal training is a plus.
