Drive ownership of key customer accounts while improving contract performance, retention, and revenue through hands-on management and relationship building.
We are looking for a driven Account Manager to take ownership of key customer accounts across the South West and South Central regions. This is a field based, on the road role, suited to someone who enjoys spending time with customers and building strong, face to face relationships.
You will manage and grow existing accounts, lead regular customer reviews, and play a hands-on role in improving contract performance, retention, and revenue. If you like having real ownership, being out in the field, and making a visible impact across your region, this role offers plenty of scope to do just that.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Set customer objectives in collaboration with Key Decision Makers
Manage contract performance and service delivery across assigned accounts
Identify and progress new opportunities within existing customers
Conduct regular on-site visits to support opportunity development, customer projects, and retention
Lead pre-engagement fact-finding to shape future opportunities and routes to market
Drive profitability improvements within accounts
Deliver revenue growth through effective account planning and execution
Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape within customer accounts and the wider industry
Provide feedback on industry and customer trends to support continuous business improvement
Candidate profile and requirements
Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar Account or Contract Manager role, ideally within the healthcare or clinical waste sector
Proven experience developing and executing sales strategies within an existing customer base
Strong track record of managing accounts, including upselling and profit growth
Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence presenting to customers
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce
Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required
