Consultant Psychiatrist 

Join a brand-new acute Mental Health service where you will play a central role in shaping care pathways and building the culture alongside the senior leadership team.

This role is ideal for a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in inpatient settings, including working with patients under the Mental Health Act, and with an interest in supporting trauma-affected patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assume Responsible Clinician (RC) duties for Dunnock View, supported by non-consultant grade doctors and the Lead Consultant Psychiatrist

  • Ensure patients admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely

  • Oversee medication management

  • Support clinical governance, including quality assurance, complaints management, and co-production

  • Deliver care in line with NICE guidance

  • Lead and manage CPA and ICR processes to ensure compliance with quality standards

  • Participate in the On Call Consultant rota


Requirements

  • Medically qualified (MRC Psych or equivalent)

  • Innovative and able to initiate corporate decisions

  • Understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health

  • Knowledge of change management, legislation, contemporary mental health issues, and purchaser/provider contractual issues

  • Previous Consultant experience
