The role
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate site contractors and represent the project in stakeholder engagements.
- Lead interface coordination between generation assets and grid connection stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate construction and commissioning records.
- Develop and implement HSQE plans, champion safety and sustainability.
- Support the Construction Project Manager with contracts, schedules, procurement, and mobilisation.
- Ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance through supervision and audits.
- Collaborate with Owner’s Engineer on compliance, design changes, and technical queries; resolve defects promptly.
- Assist with commercial activities including reporting, valuations, claims, and variation negotiations.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness and safety commitment.
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy construction and full project lifecycle.
- Civil Engineering Degree
- Experience in construction management from an owner’s perspective.
- Familiarity with EPC, BOP, property agreements, and consultancy contracts.
- Current understanding of Australian construction standards and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale contracts within budget and resources.
- Skilled in preparing clear progress reports and communicating risks effectively.
- Leadership capability to build a culture of safety and sustainability on site.
Qualification & Skills
- Strong leadership skills for managing construction site teams.
- Clear communication and relationship-building with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and site staff.
- Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage complex interfaces, risks, and contractual obligations.
- Skilled in risk identification and mitigation.
- Degree or trade qualification desirable (Civil Engineer).
- Full Australian driver’s licence required.
