Construction Project Manager

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to lead commercial framing and drywall projects in a self-perform environment. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through completion, with a strong focus on overseeing internal field crews, driving production, and maintaining project profitability. The position works closely with field leadership, estimators, and operations teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to high-quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited for someone with a strong background in commercial interiors or structural framing who understands both field operations and project financials.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial framing and drywall projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee self-perform field crews and coordinate daily production activities
  • Drive labor productivity, track production rates, and manage workforce allocation
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with field execution
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting to ensure profitability
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes specific to framing and drywall systems
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and installation sequencing
  • Lead RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation processes
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, and production progress
  • Communicate with general contractors, clients, and internal leadership on project status

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
  • Direct experience in framing, drywall, or commercial interior systems
  • Experience working for a self-performing subcontractor (not just a GC)
  • Strong understanding of labor production, crew management, and field operations
  • Experience managing projects $2M+ in value within commercial construction
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore or similar
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
