Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to oversee 5–10 active roadway and highway construction projects across Central Florida. This role requires a proven leader who can coordinate with Project Managers, Assistant Managers, and Superintendents to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget results. Experience managing DOT projects—particularly high-traffic arterial work—is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead field operations, ensuring projects are executed per plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to maintain seamless coordination between field and office staff.
  • Support and guide supervisors to keep production on track with budget and timelines.
  • Review and interpret project estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, and resource allocations.
  • Identify deficiencies or gaps in project documents and proactively address them to avoid delays.
  • Develop and implement work plans for each project phase; coordinate with HR for necessary staffing.
  • Assign responsibilities and authority to project staff, ensuring clarity and accountability.
  • Monitor progress, adjust schedules, and prepare reports for management, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain focus on productivity improvements and technical problem-solving.
  • Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on every job site.
  • Manage project schedules, claims documentation, material purchasing, subcontractor agreements, and change orders.
  • Build and sustain relationships with subcontractors, clients, engineers, DOT officials, and regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the company in public presentations, stakeholder meetings, and contract negotiations.
  • Lead project closeouts, including documentation, retainage release, claims resolution, and performance debriefs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of progressive construction and management experience.
  • Proven track record overseeing 2–4 DOT roadway/highway projects for a contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of high-traffic arterial construction, sequencing, and safety requirements.
  • Skilled in schedule management, cost control, and crew optimization.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
