Who we are
At Ecosystem we believe we should be accountable for results. And that's how we can efficiently solve complex energy and decarbonization challenges in the built environment.
Here are some of the projects we've been working on recently in North America: University of Toronto, Georgetown University, and San Diego Padres Stadium.
Who you are
You are an innovative engineering student with strong teamwork skills and an interest in electromechanical systems in buildings. You are passionate about energy efficiency solutions and sustainable development. As a Construction Intern at Ecosystem, you will become a key member of an integrated and multidisciplinary team that is responsible for designing and implementing multimillion-dollar projects with guaranteed results. You will assist our engineers with various construction activities and help with construction close out documents.
What you will do
Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, you will contribute your technical knowledge and skillsets by taking on diverse tasks in building mechanics, as part of an energy efficiency project that is currently in its implementation phase.
Coordinate work in an occupied environment and help supervise the work site.
Supervise the implementation of energy efficiency measures, primarily lighting conversions and hot water heating upgrades.
Take readings and measurements of various lighting systems.
Ensure compliance with OHS regulations and standards.
Coordinate site access with contractors.
Verify post-implementation energy savings.
Assist the Construction Managers with planning and managing the construction work (calls for tender, client meetings, supplier calls, etc.).
Ensure the work performed complies with the design, with the plans and specifications, and with applicable codes and regulations.
Your profile
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Curiosity for bringing projects from the drawing board to real-world execution.
Interest in decarbonization, HVAC systems, and energy performance.
Resourceful, autonomous, and well organized.
Strong collaboration skills with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Availability to work on-site daily in the GTA (at a fixed location).
What Ecosystem offers
4 month paid internship in the Summer of 2026.
40-hour week.
Reimbursement of cellphone expenses, meal costs and mileage expense when on site.
Laptop, work uniform, boots, helmet, safety glasses and other personal safety equipment will be provided by Ecosystem.
