POSITION GOAL:

Accountable for completion of tasks related to NFI Connect sales presentations, business development strategy, accounts and projects. The tasks include interaction and support to customers, development of case-studies, development of Marketing and training material, development of business models, and expert use of the New Flyer Connect system and project management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Manages Smart Bus Technology projects and contracts with customers. Including keeping and reporting on status of tasks.
  • Acquires and maintains an expert command on the use of New Flyer Connect, including a functional understanding of the system’s capabilities and limitations.
  • Acquires and maintains an expert knowledge of existing Bus and Coach monitoring solutions and trends.
  • Develops and participates in Marketing and Promotion plans and materials for New Flyer Connect.
  • Develop training materials for drivers, installers and external users of the system. Develop training materials for Engineering, NPD, Sales, Bids, Field Service, CPM, Production and other internal customers.
  • Develops business models and concepts including pricing structures, payment terms and contractual agreements.
  • Participate in business discussions and negotiations with potential customers.
  • Assesses customer needs and collaborates in the development of the NFI Connect business and roadmap.
  • Provides support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  • Interacts with vendors and customers on technical and non-technical issues associated with the use of the New Flyer Connect system.

Requirements

  • Post‑secondary education in business or a related discipline, or technical education with a business orientation (or vice‑versa)
  • Two or more years of relevant experience related to the essential functions of the role
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand technical problems
  • Experience in bus and coach operations and/or maintenance
  • Experience with telematics or the transportation industry
  • Basic knowledge of bus and coach operations and/or maintenance
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team environment and independently when required
  • Motivated self‑starter capable of thriving in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Ability to use a computer and other equipment relevant to the position
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
