We are looking for ​Configuration Managers​ on behalf of and in support of our client for their location in the Netherlands​. Our client is a major European organization operating in a complex, multi-site environment. This position is intended to be filled on a 100% off-site basis from anywhere within the EU. 

Its IT department plays a key role in maintaining and evolving systems that support business processes, collaboration, and innovation. The scope of this role is to oversee and maintain the integrity of an organisation’s IT environment, ensuring that all assets are accurately recorded and controlled in the configuration management database (CMDB). The Configuration Manager also has a key role in supporting Change & Release Management activities. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Manage the processes for configuration management, including standards and guidelines for identifying, controlling, and maintaining configuration items (CIs); 

  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date inventory of all configuration items, ensuring that each CI has accurate documentation and attributes; 

  • Update and modify configuration items, ensuring changes are tracked and documented; 

  • Track and report the status of configuration items and their changes throughout their lifecycle;  

  • Perform regular reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the configuration management database (CMDB) and that the CIs conform to defined standards; 

  • Ensure traceability of changes made to Cis; 

  • Collaborate with Change and Release managers to assess the impact of changes on the configuration items.

Requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent; 

  • Certifications in ITIL (Foundation/Practitioner/Expert) especially focusing on Configuration Management and Change Management;  

  • Certifications in related IT Service Management frameworks or tools, such as ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist for CMDB;  

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience; 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in IT Service Management roles, particularly those that involve managing configurations, assets, or infrastructure components; 

  • Several years of experience in software packaging and endpoint management; 

  • Experience with software packaging and deployment; 

  • Knowledge of MECM and Intune for endpoint management; 

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and compliance; 

  • Experience in implementing compliance policies within IT environments; 

  • Prior experience managing CMDBs, implementing configuration management processes, or leading configuration management initiatives;  

  • Hands-on experience of Configuration Management tools such as ServiceNow CMDB and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM); 

  • Proficient in implementing and applying ITSM principles, processes, and best practices for managing IT services;  

  • Practical skills in how configuration management interacts with Change, Release, and Incident management processes; 

  • Application of methodologies such as Agile and DevOps; 

  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), IT infrastructures, and how different components interact in complex IT environments; 

  • Familiarity with ISO standards and frameworks; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;  

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
