What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate hospitality service activities including general resident communications, guest reception, event planning, and problem solving any resident and guest needs or concerns.
- Establish and maintain organized communications and reference systems at each concierge desk including rolodex, emergency vendor information, resident census, and all other systems necessary for effective community communications.
- Serve as liaison with new resident upon move-in.
- Act as liaison between resident with community by providing direction and assistance in resolving concerns, channeling concerns to the appropriate administrative or person, and conducting follow up as needed to ensure resolution.
- Assist residents and associates with maintenance work orders by timely completing work order request and following up with maintenance team as needed on resolution.
- Participate in various resident events and social groups to build and maintain relationships with community population.
- Coordinate and lead the resident welcoming to provide social support to new residents.
- Introduce new resident to community life through personal tours and building orientation, staff introductions, navigating the dining room, functions of the business office, and orientation to general amenities and services including concierge services.
- Conduct follow-up contacts with new residents to ensure positive adjustment.
- Assist Director of Concierge Services and other leaders in training other department associates in positive hospitality services. Lead associates in building positive hospitality service culture.
- Ensure hospitality stations are open and manned appropriately to meet resident and guest needs at all times, coordinating re-stocking activities as appropriate.
- Listen pleasantly and attentively to resident, family, and/or guest needs, requests and concerns, responding appropriately.
- Provide follow-up to ensure all requests are handled in a timely and positive manner.
- Continuously improve scoring on individual questions on the resident satisfaction survey as well as overall community resident satisfaction scores.
- Maintain information specific to the needs of community including but not limited to medical services, special transportation modalities, personal banking services, personal care services, legal resources, and pet services.
- Maintain information and answer questions regarding and/or making arrangements for dining, entertainment, sports events, recreation, tours, health and beauty services, transportation, religious worship, cultural activities, shopping, floral needs, and other services.
What You’ll Bring:
- A minimum of (3) years’ experience or a combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university, with experience in the senior housing industry or event planning preferred.
- Demonstrated affinity toward senior adults
- Organization and customer service skills
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and associates.
- Ability to speak clearly and make oneself understood effectively in fact to face interactions; articulate with accuracy.
- Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instruction.
- Commitment to work some evenings and weekends for special events, as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications required.
- Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
- Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Associates shall not be permitted to work who have infectious disease or skin lesion for the duration of the communicability.
