Purpose of the Role:
You will be part of a team of skilled Manufacturing Engineers, delivering high quality end to end solutions at pace, driving performance on track throughout the season. During the build season you will be responsible for making upstream DFM decisions. Within the composite machine shop you will be responsible for delivering manufacturing-based projects, including CNC programmes, playing your part in the demanding task of building a new race car. You will use your skills and experience in manufacturing engineering to support RFT, providing total engineering solutions that support our vision of world class manufacture for car components, patterns and tooling. Principal Accountabilities:
Apply best practices in programming quality, work holding, cutter choice, and process optimisation.
Embed design for manufacture early in the design process, supporting scheming and concept reviews.
Design and detail robust tooling and fixturing to ensure right-first-time results and maximize lights-out machining.
Create CNC programs for composite machine shop to meet cost and efficiency targets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, lower costs, and enhance sustainability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent (HNC/HND) preferred.
Experienced in manufacturing engineering, design for manufacture, cost control, and production routings.
Skilled in offline programming and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis multi-tasking machining centres.
Proficient in CAD/CAM systems and knowledgeable in tool management systems.
Strong understanding of quality tools (8D, 5Why, fishbone diagrams) and MRP systems.

McLaren Racing Composites (MRC) is based at the McLaren Racing Composites Facility in Woking Business Park. This is a new state-of-the-art production centre with the latest in CNC machines and autoclave technology, an open plan office, gym and quiet room. The site is situated on the canal for easy walking and cycling commutes as well as local amenities within walking distance.
