Department:  ProductCreation Development  Reports to: Lead,Component Testing  Location: North Vancouver, BC  Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:   As the Component TestingSpecialist, you work on testing and validating construction components such as (threads, adhesives, interfacing, heat transfers, taping, etc.) used in a finished goods application. You’ll execute the finished goods component compatibility testing process and analysis, ensuring alignment with Arc’teryx design intent and supply chain requirements.Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to testing ensures that each product you work on meets Arc’teryx design intent and supply chain requirements.   Meet your future team:  We’re a small but high-performing team at the heart of product creation. We collaborate closely with Designers, Product Developers, and specialists in Circularity, Repairability, Disassembly, Raw Material Development, and Manufacturing to validate the finished goods toolbox and ensure go-to-market success.  By building strong relationships across functions, we transform ideas into durable, sustainable, and innovative products that meet the highest standards of performance and integrity.  If you were in Component Testing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for:
  • Managing a repertoire of component testing as the technical specialist, ensuring Arc’teryx brand standards are consistently met
  • Executing comprehensive component testing plans to validate new materials and models, ensuring timely and accurate results that align with calendar milestones
  • Conducting component testing processes, including helping to establish advanced protocols, timelines
  • Collaborating with Raw Materials Development, Product Creation Development and Creative teams to execute robust component testing plans ensuring validated results prior to inline execution
  • Communicating seasonal validation results and analysis to inline execution teams
  • Analyzing testing data and feedback to provide actionable insights to Raw Materials, Design, Product Creation Development, and Advanced Concepts teams to influence validation decisions and product innovation.
  • Maintaining standard practice to ensure accurate records are up to date in the PLM system
  • Supporting troubleshooting any challenges during samples in the Execution and Commercialization phases  
  • Coordinating with Tier 1 partners using performance metrics to prioritize and streamline testing requests, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery to support testing needs to the calendar
  • Supporting the process to validate on time and in full to the finished goods toolbox seasonally and for long term projects
  • Tracking and supporting reporting of metrics to Lead Finished Goods Component Testing
  • Entering accurate documentation of the testing and validation methods and results within the PLM system
  • Supporting the overall finished goods library and working with technology to house all data with efficiency and searchability
  • Upholding Fair Labour Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

  • Are you our next Component Testing Specialist?
  • You have 4+ years’ experience in product testing, raw materials development, raw materials quality, product integrity, technical product development, or equivalent additional experience in lieu
  • You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
  • You have a strong understanding of international test standards and methods
  • You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • You have knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
  • You have experience effectively communicating with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
  • You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
  • You are goal-driven with a results-oriented attitude
  • You have strong prioritization skills
  • You have strong computer skills in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
