Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team in the iGaming industry. The role covers both legal and compliance aspects, ensuring that the company adheres to applicable regulatory requirements while also supporting corporate governance and operational legal matters. The successful candidate will work closely with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external partners to maintain compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

What you can expect from the role:

Compliance & Regulatory Duties

  • Manage the handling, filing, scanning, and secure storage of KYC documents and corporate agreements for multiple entities.
  • Complete and review due diligence forms and questionnaires for regulators, banks, and third-party service providers.
  • Support the preparation, submission, and monitoring of license applications and renewals across regulated jurisdictions.
  • Draft, update, and implement internal policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., AML/CFT, GDPR, RG, Data Protection, AI, ISO).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the MGA, South Africa, Canada, and Curaçao, and other international regulators, including reporting obligations.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and compliance reviews to assess adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, and queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Track and report regulatory developments in multiple jurisdictions, advising management on the potential impact.
  • Provide compliance training to staff to foster a strong culture of compliance within the organization.

Legal Duties

  • Organize, review, and maintain legal and corporate documentation, including contracts, shareholder agreements, board resolutions, and corporate charts.
  • Draft and review commercial contracts, agreements, legal letters, and NDAs, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and advisors on specific legal matters.
  • Liaise with partners, agents, and corporate service providers to fulfill legal documentation requirements.
  • Assist senior management in handling legal disputes, litigation support, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Ensure the timely update and filing of company registry documents across various jurisdictions (Malta Business Register, Companies House, etc.)

Banking & Corporate Administration

  • Facilitate the opening, management, and monitoring of bank accounts and payment service provider relationships across different jurisdictions.
  • Maintain up-to-date corporate records and registers for all group entities.
  • Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to align legal and compliance records with statutory obligations.

General & Ad-Hoc Duties

  • Act as a point of contact with regulatory authorities and maintain strong working relationships with compliance officers, auditors, and regulators.
  • Perform ad-hoc compliance, legal, or operational tasks as required to support business needs.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or related field (LLB/LLM preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a compliance or legal role within the iGaming, financial services, or corporate services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MGA regulations and familiarity with other licensing jurisdictions (Canada, South Africa and Curaçao etc.).
  • Experience with AML/CFT frameworks, GDPR compliance, and Responsible Gaming requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong drafting and legal writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements into practical policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with regulators, banks, and internal stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with compliance software/tools.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are considered an asset.
