We are hiring a Compliance & Data Protection Manager to join our dynamic compliance & data protection team! This is an individual contributor role that carries a high impact, blending the rigor of corporate compliance with the agility of data protection

In this position, you will be the guardian of our corporate integrity, leading high-stakes investigations and ensuring global sanctions compliance. You'll play a crucial role in de-risking our expansion through expert M&A due diligence and fostering a culture of integrity throughout the organization.

YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:

• Execute the Compliance Framework: Support the design and day-to-day implementation of internal policies regarding Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and the Whistleblowing (Speak Up!) channels.
• Coordinate Internal Investigations: Support investigations into reported breaches of the Code of Conduct or internal fraud, ensuring the process is well-documented, discreet, and follows established remediation protocols.
• Operationalize Sanctions & KYC: Perform the automated and manual screening of partners, shareholders, and third parties against global sanctions lists (EU, OFAC, UN) and manage the resolution of potential "hits."
• Support M&A Due Diligence: Assist as a core contributor in the compliance and privacy workstreams during mergers and acquisitions by performing detailed due diligence and flagging regulatory risks.
• Manage the Compliance Vendor Review Process: Act as the primary gatekeeper for the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) workflow, conducting risk-based due diligence on new vendors and business partners to ensure alignment with FREENOW’s ethical standards.
• Manage Data Privacy Workflows: Support the team on the Data Protection lifecycle for corporate functions, assisting with the drafting of DPIAs and TIAs for new vendor integrations and ensuring accurate data mapping.
• Translate Legal Requirements: Provide practical, day-to-day guidance to cross-functional teams, helping translate complex compliance and privacy rules into actionable steps for the business.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• The Compliance Architect: professional with 4+ years of experience in corporate compliance and data protection, ideally within a fast-paced tech or mobility environment.
• An Investigative Mindset: Proven experience in conducting internal audits or corporate investigations and a deep understanding of the legal frameworks surrounding whistleblower protection.
• A Regulatory Expert: You have a solid grasp of the EU Whistleblowing Directive, the latest EU AML Package (Anti-Money Laundering), and international anti-corruption standards such as the FCPA or UKBA.
• Certified Professional: Relevant compliance or privacy certifications are highly welcomed. 
• Language Professional: Fluent in English and Spanish or German.
• A Pragmatic Communicator: The ability to explain compliance requirements to non-legal stakeholders in a clear, business-enabling way.
• Highly Diligent: Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage day-to-day tasks independently and with total integrity.
