We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Consultant with a focus expertise in regulatory frameworks, governance practices and operational compliance.  In this role, you will help financial sector organizations maintain regulatory integrity and build robust compliance programs that align with legal and industry standards. You will be a trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex regulatory landscapes—including GDPR, MiFID II, Solvency II, Basel III, and DORA—while fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.

With our Risk & Compliance practice, we have a fast-growing and challenging portfolio of assignments as external compliance experts within the financial sector. We help them understand how and where the upcoming regulations have an impact within their organization and help with remediations of gaps within existing regulatory guidelines.

 

What will you do?

Your deep understanding of compliance enables you to ensure organizations meet regulatory obligations, mitigate compliance risks, and implement effective governance structures.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Advise on regulatory compliance across frameworks like GDPR, MiFID II, Solvency II, Basel III, and DORA

  • Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies and procedures aligned with legal and industry standards

  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on operations

  • Conduct compliance reviews and audits to ensure adherence to applicable laws and internal policies, and propose appropriate measures

  • Deliver training to enhance risk awareness and regulatory understanding

  • Support investigations of compliance breaches and recommend remediation actions

  • Prepare reports and documentation for regulators and senior stakeholders

  • Provide practical compliance solutions that balance regulatory obligations with operational efficiency

Requirements

Your Skills & Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field (i.e. law, criminology, …)

  • Recognized compliance certificate (i.e., Febelfin, ICA, ACAMS)

  • Excellent knowledge of business English, and fluency in Dutch or French

  • +3 years in compliance, regulatory risk, or as a compliance officer (i.e., AML, DORA, ESG, PSD2)

  • At least 1 year of experience within the financial services sector

  • Dedicated understanding of legal frameworks and financial regulations, with a commitment to ongoing learning

  • Experience in consulting is a plus

  • Good analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes that may impact the organization.
