JOB SUMMARY:
The Compliance Associate is a key member of Xtrm’s Compliance and Risk team. Reporting to the Compliance Specialist, this role supports daily compliance operations by performing onboarding reviews, monitoring transaction activity, and assisting with investigations related to regulatory and banking partner requirements. The Compliance Associate helps ensure that customer accounts and transactions adhere to applicable financial regulations, sanctions programs, and internal policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external banking partners. This position is 100% remote. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform initial onboarding reviews to ensure customer accounts meet internal compliance and verification standards.
• Assist in Know Your Customer (KYC/KYB) investigations and analysis by reviewing documentation and customer information.
• Monitor and review transaction alerts generated by internal systems and escalate potential risks or suspicious activity when necessary.
• Support compliance investigations by researching account activity and documenting findings.
• Serve as a liaison with banking partners and third-party vendors regarding compliance-related inquiries.
• Assist with internal/external audit requests by gathering documentation and supporting compliance reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of onboarding reviews, investigations, and transaction monitoring activities.
• Stay informed on global financial regulations, sanctions programs, and internal compliance policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• High school diploma; College diploma preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in compliance, financial services, payments, or risk-related roles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial information and documentation.
• Basic understanding of global financial regulations and sanctions frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritize responsibilities appropriately.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Familiarity with identity verification platforms such as Persona Identity Verification.
• Experience working with ticketing or helpdesk systems such as Freshdesk.
• Experience working with CRM tools such as HubSpot.
• Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams using tools like Google Chat.
