About the Position:


We have a great opportunity for a hands on, experienced leader to join our world class claims team. This is a unique opportunity to come in on the ground floor and be a part of building and evolving a claims practice.

 

As a Complex & Represented Claims Manager, you will have an opportunity to supervise a team of talented desk adjusters who are responsible for adjusting property claims, appraisals, mediations, and pre-suits. Your previous insurance and leadership expertise will play a key role in ensuring that our team is on point and achieving company objectives.

 

In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects aimed at supporting key operational objectives, including quality management of internal adjusters and claims service providers. You will play a pivotal role in the training and development of adjusters, fostering continuous feedback to drive employee growth and professional development. This position is designed to be both impactful and rewarding, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in the organization’s operations and team success.

 

*This position is a 100% remote U.S. based opportunity that can be based in one of the following states only:  AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH,OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.


Some travel for day-to-day work, team meetings, and training will be required.


Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)

  • Clearly analyze, report, and measure team performance metrics using our systems to maximize the efficiency, quality, and customer service of our claims operation. 
  • Responsible for the selection, evaluation, and retention of necessary contractors, adjusting firms, or related  experts to assist in the daily handling of all applicable claims in each state of business.
  • Partner with the Director, Claims to assist in establishing staff objectives and performance goals.
  • Hire, train, coach, and mentor new and existing team members.
  • Utilize your previous claims expertise to create and maintain comprehensive claim handling guidelines for various areas of the business. 
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and audits on current team members and field adjusting firms to ensure compliance and best practices are being followed. Due diligence is important to us!
  • Participation in special projects as needed.


The Successful Candidate: (What we're looking for)

  • You come to us with a proven track record of handling claims and homeowner property losses. Previous field adjusting and/or construction experience is extremely valuable to us.
  • You have a solid technical background that includes an excellent understanding (and hands on experience) in loss estimating, homeowner policy coverages, and construction.
  • Uncanny ability to streamline and create efficient claims processes that support the objectives of the claims  team.
  • You enjoy leading, developing, and training teams. 
  • You're comfortable working in a metrics driven claims environment. 
  • You are well versed in and have a great understanding of insurance contracts.
  • Both internal (your peers) and external clients commend your excellent communication and follow up skills.
  • You “think on your feet” and provide solutions to complex situations.
  • You're detail oriented, organized, and can multi-task like nothing anyone has ever seen before.
  • You're a get the job done, self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in handling claims with loss values $100K is valuable to us.
  • You are currently licensed or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in California.
  • HAAG Certification is a plus.


Some Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a desk adjuster in the homeowner/property industry. Adjusting all perils (fire, hail, wind, water, theft, lightning, vandalism, etc.).
  • 3+ years of management experience, leading a team of 5-10 adjusters in the P&C world.
  • Understanding valued policy states and knowledge of which perils apply and when tendering limits are  appropriate.
  • Previous experience working with contractors, and vendors for claims resolution.
  • Previous experience evaluating Proof of Losses.
  • Previous experience handling CRN, DTPA, NOI, mediations, and appraisals
  • Ability to conduct recorded statements with insureds. 
  • Ability to leverage compromised settlements as a part of negotiation strategies.
  • You are currently licensed or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in the states of: FL,TX, NY and LA  (we can provide assistance with your licensing fees).


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient with MS Office and other internal insurance related programs, systems or applications.  (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively using programs such as Slack & MS Teams. You are comfortable sharing screens and video chatting.
  • Previous experience using estimating software (Symbility) is a plus.


Other:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required. 
  • Designated quiet work from home space.


The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year + benefits. 

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. This salary range is a good faith estimate of what Swyfft may pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience. The range reflects annual compensation (as applicable) and does not include bonuses or other incentives that the company may choose to pay at its sole discretion.
