Community & Support Coordinator at G2i

AI overview

This role challenges you to independently manage community communications and events while having a direct impact on thousands of developers' experiences.

About the Role

We're seeking a meticulous, self-directed Community & Support Coordinator to join our ambitious and collaborative Community team. This role demands someone who thinks critically before acting, maintains high standards, and takes full ownership of their work from conception to completion - all while working seamlessly with teammates who care deeply about developer experience and quality.

What You'll Do

Communication & Support (40%)

  • Manage multi-channel community communications (Slack, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, email) with precision and appropriate responsiveness

  • Review all outbound communications carefully for accuracy before sending

  • Verify information independently rather than making assumptions

  • Proactively identify and escalate potential issues before they become problems

Community Events & Content (40%)

  • Independently plan, coordinate, and host community events (AMAs, developer sessions, happy hours, hackathons)

  • Build and nurture relationships with community speakers and thought leaders

  • Create compelling content from community activities (LinkedIn posts, event recaps, video highlights)

  • Own full event lifecycle: outreach → logistics → execution → follow-up → content creation

  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of speakers and event opportunities

Operations & Administration (20%)

  • Maintain community documentation with strong attention to detail

  • Create and refine processes that prevent errors and improve efficiency

  • Support special projects with complete ownership and follow-through

What We're Looking For

The non-negotiables

  • Critical thinker - You think through implications, anticipate problems, and ask clarifying questions when something seems unclear or inconsistent.

  • Intellectual humility - You admit when you're unsure, ask for help when needed, and accept feedback graciously rather than defensively.

  • Excellent written communication - Clear, professional, polished writing with strong English skills that adapts to different audiences.

  • Personable and engaging - You're naturally warm, approachable, and comfortable building genuine relationships with community members.

  • Confident presenter - You're energized (not intimidated) by hosting virtual events and facilitating conversations with technical professionals.

  • Works smart with technology - You proactively leverage AI tools and automation to improve quality and efficiency, not just work harder.

  • Strong team collaborator - You communicate proactively, share context generously, and work seamlessly as part of a high-performing team. You celebrate wins together and support each other through challenges.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight while staying connected to team goals

  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities

  • Quick learner who masters new tools and platforms efficiently

  • Excellent judgment about when to act independently vs. when to consult

  • Ability to maintain quality standards when juggling multiple priorities

Nice to haves

  • Experience with developer communities or technical ecosystems

  • Background in community management, event coordination, or operations

  • Track record of organizing successful virtual events

  • Content creation experience

You Might Be Perfect for This Role If:

  • You're known for being both reliable and genuinely friendly

  • You naturally create systems and processes to stay organized

  • You'd rather ask a clarifying question than make an assumption

  • You take pride in doing things right and achieving goals, not just checking things off a to-do list

  • You're energized by meeting new people and hosting conversations

  • You proactively find tools and tech to make your work better

  • You thrive in collaborative environments with ambitious, driven teammates

  • You're comfortable in technical environments, even if you're not an engineer
