Community Engagement and Events Manager

Job Summary:

 

The Community Engagement and Events Manager is responsible for fostering meaningful relationships within the veteran community, managing online reputation and reviews, and delivering impactful events that strengthen brand presence and engagement. This role is pivotal in creating authentic connections, driving community participation, and ensuring that every interaction—whether through social channels, direct messages, or in-person events—reflects our commitment to veterans and their experience.

This position combines strategic community engagement with event planning and execution, ensuring that all initiatives align with business objectives and deliver measurable results. The manager will report directly to the Director of Marketing and collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and partnership teams to integrate social media, influencer, branding, and promotional strategies into community and event efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Reputation Management

  • Build and nurture relationships with veterans through social media, direct messaging, and community platforms.
  • Monitor and manage online reviews across multiple platforms, responding promptly and professionally to maintain a positive brand reputation.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance brand sentiment and trust within the veteran community.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for community inquiries, feedback, and engagement opportunities.

 

Event Strategy & Execution

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of veteran-facing events—from concept and planning to promotion, execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Develop event strategies that align with overall marketing and business goals, ensuring events foster community engagement and deliver ROI.
  • Oversee event logistics, vendor relationships, and on-site operations to ensure seamless execution.
  • Create and manage the event calendar, integrating social media, influencer partnerships, and promotional campaigns to maximize reach and impact.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track and analyze event performance, community engagement metrics, and reputation trends.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data to improve future initiatives.
  • Report on KPIs such as event attendance, engagement rates, review scores, and overall brand sentiment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.
  • Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.
  • Proven experience in event planning, community engagement, and reputation management.
  • Strong understanding of veteran experiences and ability to communicate authentically with this audience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing engagement metrics and event ROI.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Creativity and ability to innovate in community-building and event experiences.
